This soothing, gentle complementary therapy helps promote deep relaxation. It can be beneficial for coping with stress, anxiety, pain and low mood. It is based on the theory that all the systems and organs of the body are linked by energy pathways. Reflexology aims to stimulate and unblock these pathways in order to promote your body’s natural healing powers.
Sports massage was originally developed to help athletes prevent or treat injuries, however it can be beneficial to anyone, regardless of your fitness goals or intensity levels. We would typically use sports massage techniques to treat you:
if you regularly engage in sports activities,
if you are recovering from an injury,
if you spend long hours hunched over your desk, or
if you often engage in repetitive movements, e.g. heavy lifting.
If you are troubled by a particular muscle tension or chronic pain, remedial massage may be just the ticket. Your therapist will perform some tests to see exactly which muscles are giving you trouble and will tailor a treatment plan to suit. The treatment itself may involve deep tissue work for short periods of time, but the results are definitely worth it!
Remedial massage is often used to alleviate:
sciatica,
carpal tunnel,
stiff necks and / or headaches,
general aches and pains.
For mums to be at any stage, we are qualified to treat you from the first trimester.
Massage therapy during pregnancy is a wonderful and healthy way to reduce stress and promote overall wellness. It relieves many of the normal discomforts experienced during pregnancy, such as backaches, stiff neck, leg cramps, headaches and swelling (edema).
Myofascial Release is the practice of alleviating pain, trauma, inflammatory responses, and/or surgical procedures by addressing fascial restrictions. It is a safe and very effective hands-on technique that involves applying gentle sustained pressure into myofascial connective tissue restrictions to eliminate pain and restore motion.
Not as scary or painful as it sounds! Electrotherapy can be used in cases where there may be acute injury and swelling which makes traditional massage inadvisable or uncomfortable. This treatment can also be used in conjunction with other therapies in cases where chronic conditions have continued to be an issue, to offer relief in the affected tissues and to stimulate muscle tissue and nerves.

Hot stones therapy involves the use of smooth, heated stones which can be placed at specific points on your body and may also be held by your therapist while using traditional massage strokes. The localised heat and weight of the stones warms and relaxes muscles, allowing your therapist to apply deeper pressure to those areas without causing discomfort. Combining hot stones with other treatment methods during either Sports, Deep tissue or relaxation massage provides a very healing and effective experience.
